The 'Secret Mill' - (The Art Barn, Thornbury)

Last summer we went on holiday to the Lake District, somewhere I have always wanted to go. There was one place I was determined to photograph, a ‘secret’ watermill, hidden away in the small hamlet of Borrowdale. Having bargained some ‘photography’ time with my wife, I headed out to the location, with coordinates researched from the internet! After wading knee deep across a precariously slippery stream clutching my precious camera gear and praying I didn’t slip over, I managed to capture these images.

Once I was back from the holiday, I was over the moon with the results, and contacted Jenny at The Art Barn in Thornbury, hoping she would display the limited edition prints in her gallery - She was delighted to display my prints. Here’s some shots and a link to The Art Barn Facebook page . . .

Forage Design - Hannah photoshoot

Earlier this month I was asked if I could provide some images for Forage Design, an ethical clothing and jewelry store, based in Bristol, who stand out from the usual ‘fast fashion’ brands, by asking the makers to set the price. This helps in combating the exploitation of workers and also cuts down on damaging carbon emissions from a lot of the big brand fashion houses. The lively Hannah was the model for this shoot, who was brimming with ideas (watch out for that stick! ;-) and wasn’t frightened to throw herself into some precarious poses to achieve them!

Hannah was a fantastic model to work with! - You can check out her instagram page here: @mmcreative.now

Bristol Light Festival - Model shoot

Took a trip into the centre of Bristol last Sunday evening as @bristolportraits were hosting a model shoot in and around the Bristol Light Festival, showcasing many international light artists work. Great night out, despite the huge amount of ‘photogs’ battling for the ultimate shot (me included!). It was good to meet some of them and hear their stories! A big thank you goes out to all the models who participated in the event, and for putting up with the ‘horde!’ Here’s some shots . . .

Autumn Colours - Westonbirt Arboretum . . .

Yesterday we visited Westonbirt Arboretum to shoot some of the stunning autumnal colours around the grounds - this was probably the last weekend of colours before the frosty mornings make an appearance! Unfortunately the weather was dull and drizzly in the morning, but the sun started to break around noon. Lots of people wandering around even though the weather was grey! Anyway, here’s a few autumnal shots . . .

Scenes from Sri Lanka

We have just returned from a trip to Sri Lanka, having travelled the country West to East. Unfortunately it was at the time of the terrorist attacks, but thankfully we were not in the vicinity of the affected areas. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Sri Lanka who were directly and indirectly affected by this evil tyranny - not only costing the lives of many but harming the economy of the country by stopping tourism from many countries. I can only hope this great nation of kind and inviting people can recover from this mindless and senseless act of barbarity.

Here are some photos from this wonderful and inspiring nation . . .

Just had a great photoshoot with Chris Conway and the fantastic model Aime Boulton at the groovy Studio 58, on Friday evening. Five different studio sets with a great group of fellow shooters - they even laid on Tea and Coffee and as many biscuits you can stuff in your face. Came back with near 200 photos! - post production may take a while ;-)
